Gemalto plans to introduce two new products this week at CTIA Wireless 2007.
The company said it will introduce its Smart Dongle product that allows subscriber to securely access mobile carrier services such as voice over IP, instant messaging, multimedia content and online authentication with banks. The product includes an integrated smart card and provides two-factor authentication capability.
“Gemalto’s latest innovation targets mobile operators who see the subscriber’s PC as an opportunity and want to provide convergent services,” said Jean-Louis Carrara, vice president marketing solutions and strategies for telecom at Gemalto North America. “We are empowering operators to provide on PCs the service quality expected from mobile operators. This will tighten customer relationships by bringing mobile services into subscribers’ everyday home PC lives and their business laptop.”
In addition, Gemalto plans to announce its On Card Portal, which is a subscriber identity module-based solution designed to simplify user access to content and services. On Card Portal offers an offline home page that combines links to the WAP home page, WAP short cuts, access to premium short message service applications, management of SIM wallet applications and other operator-promoted services, said the company.
