Research In Motion Ltd. today announced its BlackBerry Mobile Voice System, which offers BlackBerry enterprise users a secure connection to their desk phone.
The solution includes enhancements to BlackBerry device software, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the Ascendent Voice Mobility Suite from Ascendent Systems. A “Reach Me Anywhere” single phone number is used to simultaneously ring both a desk phone and BlackBerry device.
The solution includes standard RIM security features, IT policies and system-management functions currently offered with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
RIM also announced a BlackBerry plug-in for Microsoft Corp.’s Visual Studio for systems integrators and in-house, corporate application developers for BlackBerry-specific applications that integrate with back-end systems through .NET Web Services.
