The Associated Press has signed a deal with mobile video vendor Transpera to power the mobile content distribution of the AP’s Mobile News Network.
Mobile News Network, scheduled to launch later this quarter, is the first product of the AP’s Digital Cooperative, a program from AP members designed to find ways to distribute news over new-media platforms.
“Offering high-quality breaking and entertaining video news to consumers on the go is a high priority for the Mobile News Network,” said Jeffrey Litvack, the AP’s director of global product development. “Transpera’s technology provides us with the tools to deliver this multimedia-rich experience.”
In addition to providing technology for video delivery, Transpera will help advertisers reach mobile users through banner, pre-roll and post-roll ads.
