Capital Markets: FiberLight closes financing; Ntelos buys FiberNet and more

FiberLight L.L.C., which provides fiber optic network solutions, said it completed a private debt offering of $22 million with CoBank. The deal includes a $20 million note and a $2 million increase in its revolving credit line. The company said it will use the proceeds of the financing to invest in new network opportunities specifically in the Baltimore/Washington D.C./Maryland region.
Ntelos Holdings (NTLS) said it has agreed to purchase One Communications Corp.‘s FiberNet business for $170 million in cash. The FiberNet fiber optic network includes 3,500 route miles in West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Kentucky.
Crown Castle International (CCI) announced the quarterly dividend on its 6.25% convertible preferred stock will be paid Aug. 16 to shareholders of record on Aug. 1.
Apple posted revenues of $15.7 billion and net income of $3.25 billion, or $3.51 per share, for the second quarter. Those results compare with revenue of $9.73 billion and profit of $1.83 billion, or $2.01 per share, reported during the same period last year.
Comarco (CMRO) reported revenues for its first fiscal quarter of 2011 of $7.5 million, up 272% from revenues of $2 million during last year’s fiscal first quarter. Net loss for the quarter was $700,000, or 10 cents per share, compared with net loss of $2.8 million, or 39 cents per share, for the same quarter last year.
Millicom International Cellular (MICC) said its revenues increased 14% to $929 million during the second quarter from $814 million during the second quarter of last year. Net income for the quarter was $134 million, or $1.23 per share, up from $114 million, or $1.05 per share, during the same period last year.
Texas Instruments (TXN) reported second-quarter revenues of $3.5 billion up 42% from revenues of $2.5 billion during last year’s second quarter. Net income was $769 million, or 62 cents per share, compared with net income of $260 million, or 20 cents per share, during the corresponding period last year.
Sony Ericsson reported second quarter results, which included sales of $2.17 billion, down slight from sales of $2.27 billion during last year’s second quarter. Net loss for the quarter was $274.6 million, compared with a profit of $15.5 million during the second quarter of 2009.
