@ CTIA E&A: CTIA announces slate of new board members for 2011

SAN FRANCISCO — CTIA-The Wireless Association elected a series of new members to its board of directors that will serve a one-year term at the beginning of 2011.
The 35-member board is adding representatives from nine small carriers and eight suppliers, the organization announced at its big fall show.
“As our industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, we are looking forward to working with some of the best wireless industry leaders. Their diverse experiences and understanding about this highly innovative and competitive sector will be a great asset to CTIA and its member companies,” Steve Largent, president and CEO of CTIA, said in a prepared statement.
The small carrier additions include Charlie Townsend, general partner of Aloha Partners; Ron Smith, president of Bluegrass Cellular; Wirt Yerger, manager at Cavalier Wireless; Pat Riordan, president and CEO of Cellcom; Dallas Clement, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Cox Communications; Greg Klimek, vice president and general manager of Mohave Wireless; Johnie Johnson, CEO of Nex-Tech Wireless; Bob Dawson, president and CEO of SouthernLINC Wireless; and Ed Evans, CEO of Stelera Wireless.
The new supplier representatives include Bret Comolli, chairman at Asurion; Andy Lees, senior vice president of mobile communications business at Microsoft; Ken Denman, CEO of Openwave Systems; Philip Christopher, president and CEO of Personal Communications Devices; Marty Beard, president of Sybase 365; Tony Holcombe, president and CEO of Syniverse Technologies; E.Y. Snowden, president and CEO of Tatara Systems; and Maurice Tos
