ChinaTel | January 18, 2011 | Press Release
US-Based ChinaTel Group (OTCBB: CHTL) is aggressively launching and expanding its international wireless broadband networks throughout China and Peru.
Up until now, ChinaTel Group has owned the exclusive rights to roll
out its WiMAX broadband networks to the 29 largest cities in China
through its partnership with CECT-Chinacomm. Now, through assertive deal-making partnerships with international broadband companies, the Company has expanded its footprint to become the largest 4G network carrier in China by adding two additional major China-based network partnerships, including:
* Sino Crossing’s 34,000 km fiber backbone throughout 90% of China
(ChinaTel Group owns 51%)
* Golden Bridge’s 9 city last mile 4G wireless network; expandable to
100 cities+ within China (ChinaTel Group owns 51%)
With the addition of Sino Crossing and Golden Bridge to the original
29-city CECT-Chinacomm footprint, ChinaTel Group now owns enough
spectrum rights and capacity to deliver High Speed Broadband Services
country-wide to reach over one billion Chinese consumers, businesses,
and PRC agencies in the country.
Until now, China Telecom (a separate company) has had a virtual
monopoly for overseas IP traffic in and out of China. This is no
longer the case as ChinaTel Group now has a newly extended footprint
in China, owning a 100% IP 4G network in the largest Internet market
in the world.
In separate news, ChinaTel Group also announced it will put $62
million into selling Internet Protocol telephony in Peru, via its
subsidiary Perusat. Â The new network will be 4G LTE.
