Vringo Inc., a provider of video ringtones and personalization solutions for mobile devices, announced that it has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to acquire substantially all of the assets of m-Wise Inc. m-Wise provides a platform to manage deliver and monetize mobile entertainment, content and applications. Vringo will issue m-Wise 1.9 million shares of its common stock.

OpenText helps organizations manage and gain the true value of their business content. weComm’s technology will facilitate OpenText delivering a strategic platform to companies which will help them provide mobile apps to reach their customers, consumers or partners.

Quepasa Corporation, creator and operator of Quepasa.com, the online social network and game platform for the Latino community, has closed its acquisition of XtFt Games S/S Ltda. XtFt Games is the owner of substantially all the assets of TechFront Desenvolvimento de Software S/S Ltda, a social game development studio based in Curitiba, Brazil.Read more here.

Western Digital and Hitachi Ltd. announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement whereby WD will acquire Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $4.3 billion. The proposed combination will result in a customer-focused storage company, with significant operating scale, strong global talent and the industry’s broadest product lineup backed by a rich technology portfolio.

Fusion-io Inc. announced that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. SEC for a proposed initial public offering of shares of its common stock. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined. Fusion-io is a data and storage start-up that uses flash memory and was founded in 2006. Fusion-io’s chief scientist is currently Steve Wozniak and it was named number one venture capital-funded technology company in 2010 by The Wall Street Journal.
