[Madrid, Spain, 4 July 2011]: Huawei, a leading telecom solutions provider, has inaugurated in Madrid last week, the Network Operations Center (NOC), a center dedicated to operate and manage telecommunication networks, and provide professional services to operators in Spain and the rest of Western Europe. The opening ceremony has presided by Juan Junquera, the State Secretary for Telecommunications and Information Society of Spain, and counted with the Vice President of Western Europe Region of Huawei, François QUENTIN, and Walter Ji, Managing Director of Huawei in Spain.
The NOC aims to become an international competency center, providing professional services for Huawei’s Spanish customers, and also for other operators in Western Europe.
The main activities of this new center are to provide network operation services such as front-office operation (help desk, fault handling, network surveillance), back office operation (corrective & preventive maintenance, vendor support management) and operation support management (SLA management, security management, IT platform management).This center supports various technologies, such as GSM and UMTS RAN technologies, IN & Core, optical technology (DWDM, SDH, uWave), etc. In addition, the center offers 24/7 availability and it operates both in Spanish and English.
The center currently manage and operate a number of Spanish networks and has the capability to handle more than 10,000 fixed and mobile network elements, while conducting new technology and services tests.
Huawei opened its office in Spain since 2001. Since then, Huawei has developed a complete local organization with the aim of providing the best-in-class services to its customers.

Mr. José Miguel García, CEO of Jazztel, who also attended the opening ceremony, said “The agreement reached in 2009 with Huawei for the management of our network has enabled Jazztel to put up with the strong growth in customers, maintaining our high quality services.”
