Brazilian Communication Ministry (Minicom)’s annual budget for 2012 has been pushed up to US $3 billion (R$ 5.49 billion). The amount includes the budget for Brazilian telecom regulator Anatel and State-owned Brazilian telecom Telebrás. This year’s budget is US $628 million (R$ 1.1 billion) higher than the 2011 budget.
Minicom is expected to invest US $707.56 million (R$ 1.24 billion), which is also more than the government has invested last year – US $421.68 million (R$ 739 million).
The annual budget for the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has also been increased. It will be US $4.83 billion (R$ 8.48 billion), a little higher than US $4.65 billion (R$ 8,16 billion) for 2011.
