Samsung’s flagship LTE smartphone, the Galaxy S III, is making its way to two more U.S. carriers. Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular join Sprint Nextel, AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile USA in offering the 4.8-inch screened, Android 4.0 smartphone. T-Mobile USA is making way for the Galaxy S III by offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on some other Samsung smartphones.
U.S. Cellular began shipping the phone to customers early this week, and is now rolling it out in retail stores. The company’s twitter feed is littered with rave reviews from happy new customers.
The Samsung Galaxy S III offers users the ability to share photos and other data between phones, and ships with NFC-enabled stickers called TecTiles. When the phone is near a TecTile, it can carry out a preset command without human intervention.
Claiming patent infringement, Apple has filed a motion to block sales of the Galaxy S III in the San Jose, Calif. division of the Northern District of the U.S. District Court of California. That’s the same court that issued preliminary injunctions on the sale of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Nexus.
