Sprint continues to pilfer executives from rivals as part of its broader corporate restructuring, with the latest coming from AT&T
Sprint’s ongoing corporate restructuring gained yet another executive from a rival as the carrier announced former AT&T executive Nelly Pitocco joined as VP of enterprise sales.
Pitocco is responsible for business-to-business sales and business development, supporting enterprise customers with wireless communications solutions and services, according to Sprint. Pitocco served in various sales positions at AT&T for nearly 15 years, as well as executive and management positions at Apollo, IBM and Advantis.
In her new position, Pitocco reports directly to Kevin Crull, who is president of the carrier’s central area, having late last year been moved from his previous position as CMO. Sprint’s central area includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Sprint has moved to restructure the company into four geographic areas, including West, Northeast and South.
Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure has aggressively revamped the carrier’s structure and leadership since replacing long-time CEO Dan Hesse in mid-2014. Shortly after Claure’s hiring, Sprint began to revamp its leadership, including bringing on some network executives from parent company SoftBank operations. Sprint last year lost CTO Stephen Bye as well as went through a broader shakeup of its executive ranks.
The carrier earlier this year hired two former Verizon Wireless regional presidents for high-level posts, as well as former Cox Communications sales executive Jerry Gallegos as the new president of the West area.
