Minus the participation of Domino’s, this week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion again ran into application trouble due to high demand
I guess we can’t blame it on the pizza.
T-Mobile US’ attempts to give away free stuff to customers hit another snag as this week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion again tripped up the carrier’s mobile application. The T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion was launched June 6 as part of the carrier’s “Un-carrier 11” event.
The carrier noted early in the day on Tuesday the application was running slow or not working at all for some customers due to demand. The carrier followed up later in the day noting the application was back in the game, with the added benefit of customers being able to take advantage of free giveaways through Friday.
This week’s promotion included continued support from Wendy’s in the form of a free small Frosty, Vudu in the form of a free movie and Lyft with a free ride valued at up to $15. This week also relied heavily on Major League Baseball for various discounts and contests. Those discounts include a $20 coupon to the MLB online store, with contests to win $50 and $100 gift cards and a trip to the MLB All-Star game.
T-Mobile US noted earlier this week it had lost initial promotion partner Domino’s, which decided to stop offering up a free two-topping pizza, which had been part of the first two weeks of the promotion. The carrier noted the move was due to the pizza chain being unable to keep up with demand.
The initial attempt at the T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion ended up crashing the application, resulting in carrier CEO John Legere taking to social media channels to ask for patience. The carrier eventually got the application sorted later in the day.
