Aryaka unveils multi-layered security platform Passport
SD-WAN provider Aryaka rolled out a new platform, called Passport, providing its customers with as many as six layers of security. The added layers of security come from Aryaka’s security partners, including Palo Alto Networks, Radware and Zscaler.
The security layers that make up Passport provide protection against different threats. Radware’s Hybrid Cloud Attack Mitigation, for example, helps deter DDoS attacks. Aryaka’s edge devices also include built-in security next-generation firewalls from Palo Alto Networks. It provides integrated security from Palo Alto Networks for virtual firewalls hosted in AWS and Microsoft Azure as well. Additionally, Passport includes a layer of cloud security for non-critical traffic that traverses across the web through partnerships with Palo Alto Networks and Zscaler.

Passport is the result of previous efforts Aryaka has had with third-party security vendors. In January, for example, the company said it was working with Zscaler to deliver a joint SD-WAN cloud-security offering. Then in February, Aryaka said it was collaborating with Radware to implement DDoS attack detection and mitigation for its global enterprise services.
Having multiple layers of security from multiple security vendors is beneficial in that it provides additional protection in the event of any issues with an individual layer. Having multiple layers from a single vendor, by contrast, poses the risk of infecting all of the layers in the event that something goes awry with the core technology.
