Real estate developer Hines said it has installed a new in-building wireless network at 1144 Fifteenth, a newly unveiled office tower in Denver, Colorado.

?Denver has experienced a paradigm shift over the past decade and is emerging into a primary market fueled by population growth, lifestyle and a talented workforce,? said Chris Crawford, Hines Managing Director at 1144 Fifteenth. As such, the first Class A high-rise office tower was designed to be the ?Superman? of all buildings ? a Class AA skyscraper that boasts a sleek, modern design and the latest technologies and amenities.

?1144 Fifteenth was the first office development of its kind in the Denver area within the last 30 years. During the development phase, the intent was to differentiate ourselves from the older product set by implementing the most current?technology?on the market,? said Hines? Stephanie Rosenthal, General Property Manager at 1144 Fifteenth.

The real estate developer said that the LEED-Gold certified property features a state-of-the-art air filtration system, destination-dispatch elevators, and a 10% higher energy efficiency than competing properties. ?In-place technology allows for daylight harvesting and smart, efficient building system controls which translate to reduced energy consumption and lower cost of occupancy for tenants,? said Rosenthal.

?The decision to install an in-building wireless solution to support current cellular networks and provide a foundation to expand to smart building technology and 5G was truly about enhancing the tenant experience and differentiating ourselves from the competition.?By installing the system on the front end as part of core and shell construction, we eliminated the need for tenants to solve for [cellular connectivity] as part of their space planning and tenant improvement construction,? Rosenthal said.

Rosenthal continued, ?We live in an increasingly mobile culture where people are constantly working out-of-pocket and are dependent on cellular communication.? As such, reliable cell coverage within the walls of the building is a basic expectation of many of our tenants, and we?ve been pleased to deliver that convenience.?

For the installation of the in-building wireless project, Connectivity Wireless partnered with its parent company, Neutral Connect Networks, to bring coverage throughout this 40-story property.

?Neutral Connect Networks brought to the table several cost models which allowed us to find the right financial solution to deploy the technology at 1144 Fifteenth. Connectivity Wireless executed the construction and managed the carriers efficiently and effectively,? said Michael Bjes, Hines Senior Construction Manager.

JMA Wireless? Teko system was completed in 80 days and leverages 51,000 feet of coax, 4000 feet of fiber, 277 antennas, and 13 RUs to deliver robust coverage throughout the 671,120-square-foot building. The neutral-host system, currently supporting Verizon, is designed to support all four carriers.

?Today?s property managers must ensure their wireless systems empower today?s tenants and devices but also are designed with a natural migration to support 5G services.? Our partner, Connectivity Wireless, understands the technology and has delivered for 1144 Fifteenth,? said Kevin Gallagher, EVP, Neutral & Private Networks at JMA Wireless.

JMA Wireless designs and builds in-building and outdoor mobile wireless systems, delivering technologies that enable LTE, 5G, and CBRS services on mobile operator networks worldwide.
