In-building wireless system provider Connectivity Wireless Solutions announced it has joined the CBRS Alliance, an organization dedicated to developing, marketing and promoting 4G and 5G solutions in the shared 3.5 GHz Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band.
Connectivity Wireless said it joined the alliance with the belief that shared CBRS spectrum will become an engine for the growth of private networks and proliferation of additional in-building services in the eMBB, IoT, or URLLC application category.
?We are dedicated to setting the standard of excellence in designing, installing, and maintaining in-building wireless systems. Part of maintaining excellence in this industry is not only anticipating the wireless climate but playing a hands-on role in shaping its future when possible. Joining the CBRS Alliance will allow us to actively participate in this process,? said Nader Famili, SVP of technology planning and development at Connectivity Wireless.
Connectivity Wireless Solutions specializes in the design and deployment of in-building wireless systems. Since 2008, the company has provided thousands of carrier-grade solutions to meet the connectivity needs of venues and facilities.
?We are pleased to welcome Connectivity Wireless Solutions to the CBRS Alliance,? said Alan Ewing, Executive Director of CBRS Alliance. ?The knowledge and expertise that Connectivity Wireless brings to the table are extremely valuable to the ecosystem as we approach commercial deployments.?
The CBRS Alliance provides an industry platform for discussing opportunities and challenges in the field of shared spectrum, such as the plethora of venue-specific services that can be enabled via the availability of spectrum for non-carrier entities as well as extra spectrum for commercial operators to carrier aggregate, the entity said.
The CBRS Alliance believes that LTE-based solutions in the CBRS band, utilizing shared spectrum, can enable both in-building and outdoor coverage and capacity expansion at massive scale. In order to maximize CBRS? full potential, the CBRS Alliance aims to enable an ecosystem towards making LTE-based CBRS solutions available. The mission of the CBRS Alliance is to evangelize LTE-based CBRS technology, use cases and business opportunities while simultaneously driving technology developments necessary to fulfill the mission, including multi-operator LTE capabilities. The Alliance will also establish an effective product certification program for LTE equipment in the US 3.5 GHz band ensuring multi-vendor interoperability.
Connectivity Wireless Solutions? portfolio includes distributed antenna solutions (DAS), small cells, Private LTE/CBRS, managed Wi-Fi and public safety systems.
The firm provides solutions to several vertical industries including commercial real estate (CRE), healthcare, government, hospitality, higher education and public
