Johnson Controls, a global provider of solutions for smart buildings, announced that it closed an agreement to purchase the?EasyIO Building and Energy Management System?(BEMS) product line, the U.S. company said in a statement.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, EasyIO has operations in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.
Johnson Controls said that the acquisition will create significant growth opportunities as the firm leverages the EasyIO products and team in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and APAC building automation markets, as well as the global HVAC and refrigeration markets.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Johnson Controls provides building automation solutions for complex and light-commercial buildings.
EasyIO?s product line includes IP-based and network-ready controllers, HMI products, peripherals, gateways, and modems. The company serves the facility management market, including office buildings, utilities, industrial facilities, hotels, healthcare facilities, retail stores, residences and educational facilities.
Johnson Controls recorded revenues of $2.32 billion in its North America building solutions segment in fiscal Q3, slightly up compared to revenues of $2.24 billion in the same period the previous year.
The company said that growth in this segment in North America was driven by strong growth in HVAC & Controls and, to a lesser extent, growth in Fire & Security.
