Eletronic component manufacturer SMK Electronics Europe announced the launch of the IP500 compliant CNX200M Radio Module for building automation applications at CES 2020.
“With the development of the CNX200M Radio Module, SMK and the IP500 Alliance team have produced what is perhaps the industry?s first fully secure wireless IoT communications platform for Personal Area Networks,” said Helmut Adamski, chairman of the IP500 Alliance.?The IP500 Alliance is an international initiative of manufacturers, users and operators to define, develop and provide a wireless, manufacturer-neutral, secure communication IoT platform for PAN applications.
“Based on true dual-band, fully scalable asynchronous meshing topology, the CNX200M effectively optimizes both Platform security and performance,” Adamski added. “Fixed-installation field testing has subsequently confirmed these findings; with next steps to include attaining VdS approval for ?Fire & Safety applications?.”

SMK Electronics Europe, is a specialist in the manufacture of electronic controls, components and connectors. The firm serves the consumer electronics, auto manufacturing and building automation markets.
Hampton Products launches new connected deadbolts
Also during CES, Hampton Products announced the launch of a new connected deadbolts.
The company said that it has merged the BenjiLock By Hampton fingerprint-unlocking technology initially deployed in padlocks with hardware expertise creating security solutions to create a new line of exterior deadbolts that use fingerprints as a key.
The deadbolt is being offered in two styles and three formats:
-The?BenjiLock By Hampton Livia Deadbolt?is available in two formats ? one with connected home capability for use with home Wi-Fi (no smart hub needed), and a non-connected home version for standalone applications including outbuildings, cabins, vacation rentals or areas with limited Wi-Fi resources.
-The?BenjiLock By Hampton Luca Deadbolt?is a non-connected version that has been named a?2020 CES Innovation Award Honoree?in the Smart Home product category.
All BenjiLock By Hampton Livia and Luca models feature a Grade 2 deadbolt that is pick-resistant, bump-resistant and drill-resistant. The deadbolts can each store up to 10 fingerprints and 25 user codes for owners to provide home access to family and friends. A touch keypad with clearing code has been designed to randomize digits and minimize/remove use patterns.
