U.S. wireless infrastructure company Mobilitie is bringing 5G wireless to Washington DC?s 1801 K Street, a multi-tenant office building located in the city?s commercial center.
Mobilitie said that the new network will provide a dependable and reliable 5G network designed specifically for the Class A office building.
As part of the deal, Mobilitie will deploy a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) network at 1801 K Street to provide tenants and visitors with next-generation wireless service. The fiber-rich network is designed to easily accommodate future technologies and all wireless service providers, Mobilitie said.
The property is under management by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and Spaulding & Slye Investments. With its recent $100 million renovation, 1801 K Street secured a LEED Gold certification, meeting the highest standards for sustainable commercial office spaces.
?Mobilitie is committed to bringing a secure and dependable wireless network that will support all major wireless carriers at 1801 K Street,? said Nic Adams, Director of Wireless Solutions at Mobilitie. ?We?re excited to provide another well-known venue in our nation?s capital with the necessary infrastructure to support the next-generation of wireless network technology.?
In a recent interview with In-Building Tech, Jason Caliento, Executive Vice President, Network Strategy at Mobilitie said that the firm foresees growth opportunities for the firm in 2021. ?As we look at 2021, we?re seeing nothing but increased interest and opportunities in connecting businesses and their customers, schools and their students, local governments and its citizenry.? More specifically, with the recent CBRS and C-band auctions, 5G deployments, massive small cell investments, and the entrance of Dish into the marketplace, we are very bullish on the overall outlook for 2021, and is expected to be one of our largest growth years,? Caliento said.
Caliento said that the firm is seeing significant year-over-year growth in its In-Building Networks for venue owners.? ?As tenants return to commercial real estate, as guests return to hotels, and as smaller venues look to attract visitors, building, hotel, and venue owners are seeing that they need to have outstanding in-building coverage and capacity to attract and retain their tenants, guests, and fans,? the executive added.
