Canadian autonomous building tech company BrainBox AI announced the launch of its Real Estate Energy Savings Calculator.
In a release, the firm noted that the calculator and accompanying assessment give building owners and managers an immediate estimate of the energy savings that can be achieved by installing BrainBox AI?s technology. The calculator considers factors like building type and annual utility cost, illustrating the positive financial and environmental impact that BrainBox AI?s automation can have on a commercial building.
Using self-adapting artificial intelligence (AI) technology, BrainBox AI said it optimizes existing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, creating a self-operating building that requires no human intervention. This results in up to a 25% reduction in energy costs, a 20-40% reduction in carbon footprint and a 60% increase in occupant comfort in commercial real estate buildings, such as schools, medical facilities, hotels, retail stores and offices, the company said.

The firm had launched commercial operations in May 2019. Since then, BrainBox AI has installed its technology in over 100 million square feet of commercial properties, across 16 countries.
BrainBox AI works in collaboration with research partners including the US Department of Energy?s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) as well as educational institutions including Montreal?s ?cole de technologie sup?rieure (ETS) and McGill University.
