SINGAPORE-Lucent Technologies Inc. announced two wireless contracts and successful testing of its third-generation technology at the CommunicAsia trade show here this week.
Lucent and Japanese company eAccess Ltd. said they successfully completed High Speed Downlink Packet Access data calls as part of a W-CDMA network trial announced earlier this year. The companies plan to conduct field trials in Tokyo in the coming months.
In other news, Lucent expanded its deal with Telecom New Zealand for its CDMA 1x EV-DO network. The carrier plans to offer DO access to the main cities and towns by Christmas.
And Vietnam Power Telecom said it will use Lucent’s equipment for the second phase of its CDMA 450 MHz network expansion in northern Vietnam.
