CHICAGO-U.S. Cellular and the Wisconsin Center District announced a six-year, $2 million “title sponsorship” agreement renaming the former Milwaukee Arena the U.S. Cellular Arena.
The company’s name will appear on the 50-year-old venue’s exterior, on the new basketball floor and scoreboard, on interior signage, in all entertainment industry references to the facility and on event-related advertising, tickets, novelties and concession cups.
“Having a high-profile presence with a popular downtown venue helps us establish a sense of local permanence in an industry better known for rapid change,” said Glenna Nathans, area general manager for U.S. Cellular. “We are extremely committed to the Milwaukee area and we want our customers to know that.”
