ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Network Solutions Sector was awarded a $5.8 million contract by China Telecom to provide seven Global System for Mobile communications dual-band Rapid Deployment Vehicle units.
The units consists of an independent, truck-mounted, wireless telephone system that is capable of replacing out-of-service base stations in remote places, enhance network capacity and provide temporary communication services for special and emergency events. Motorola said the units will be used in seven provinces to support local telecommunications construction.
