HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. reported it carried out the first Wireless Application Protocol service over a trial wideband Code Division Multiple Access system.
The tests, completed in Beijing, involved Chinese language WAP services transmitted via the W-CDMA system and radio network.
“The demonstration of seamless interoperability of WAP over W-CDMA proves that these technologies offer a future proof path toward mobile Internet services,” said James Lin, president of Nokia China Investment Co. Ltd.
