COSTA MESA, California, United States—The CDMA Development Group said the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recognized CDMA 1xEV-DO as a 3G IMT-2000 standard, adding that it will be submitted to the ITU-R SG-8 for formal approval at its November meeting.
“It now appears that CDMA2000 is one of the few bright points in the highly confused 3G marketplace,” said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG.
