Vodafone reorganizes Asian holdings

LONDON—Vodafone Group announced changes to its regional structure effective 1 January. The changes include placing the wireless operator’s interests in Japan, China and India under its Asia region, headquartered in Tokyo. Bill Keever, currently chief executive officer (CEO) of the Americas region, will be CEO of the Asia region.

“We have made a significant investment in Japan through our subsidiaries, Japan Telecom and J-Phone, which now form a key part of the group,” said Julian Horn-Smith, group chief operating officer at Vodafone. “The new structure reflects the importance of these businesses and will assist the integration process with the other parts of the group.”

Tomas Isaksson will become CEO of the Americas region, assuming responsibility for Vodafone’s interests in the United States and Mexico, as well as overall responsibility for the company’s Global Platform and Internet Services activity.

Vodafone’s other regions will remain unchanged.
