SWINDON, U.K.—Lucent Technologies and Qualcomm said they have collaborated to place a series of voice calls employing Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) technology in compliance with the 3G Partnership Program (3GPP).
“Lucent tested its commercial-grade UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network with a Qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM5200 mobile station modem chipset-based test mobile,” said both companies in a joint statement.
