RESTON, Va.—Openet Telecom announced that its recently unveiled FusionWorks wireless convergent mediation platform will be deployed by Rural Cellular Corp. to enable it to offer advanced 2.5G and 3G-related services in the future.
“Service providers large and small are facing similar issues—high operating expenses due to investments in infrastructure that has yet to yield a return, customer churn and tight competition,” said Barry Murphy, chief executive officer of Openet. “As a result of these new-found realities, they recognize that there is a lot of value buried in network usage data, and the role of mediation is becoming ever more strategic.
