ADELAID, Australia—Australia hosted a demonstration of third-generation (3G) technology this week by m.Net Corporation. The government said it has funded A$9 million (US$4.6 million) for m.Net, a consortium of Telstra and Alcatel.
The 3G network will soon provide coverage throughout Adelaide and support high bandwidth communications for a variety of institutions, the government said. M.Net concentrates on research into wireless data applications.
