LAKE CHARLES, La.-US Unwired Inc. reported 41,070 net personal communications services customer additions for the fourth quarter of 2001, ending the year with 277,036 PCS customers. Including its cellular subscriber base, the Sprint PCS affiliate ended the year with 311,122 wireless customers.
Company revenue for the quarter increased from $35.8 million in 2000 to $81.2 million last year. For the year, total revenue jumped from $113 million in 2000 to $259.1 million.
Net loss for the fourth quarter fell slightly from $25.8 million, or 33 cents per share, to $25.5 million, or 30 cents per share. For the year, net loss increased from $75.2 million, or 98 cents per share, in 2000, to $97.6 million, or $1.17 per share last year.
