Summus, THQ announce content deals

RALEIGH, N.C.-Wireless application and technology company Summus Inc. scored a deal with international news agency Agence France-Presse to offer wireless news and photo content.

“AFP is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Summus on ground-breaking and advanced ways to deliver news,” said Yves de Saint Jacob, director for multimedia development at AFP. “The combination of our award-winning content and Summus’ BlueFuel platform will deliver the most compelling news experience possible on a mobile device.”

Also on the content front, video game company THQ Inc. said it will use application development technology from wireless technology company Fathammer to develop 3D games for Nokia Corp.’s upcoming N-Gage video game/mobile-phone device. THQ will license Fathammer’s X-Forge 3D Game Engine to develop games, including Red Faction and MotoGP.
