Wynd demos wireless service for the deaf

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.-Wynd Communications announced the first public demonstration of its Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS), designed to wirelessly connect people who are deaf or hard of hearing with others, at this week’s Deaf Expo West 2003 trade show.

The service works on Research In Motion’s 850, 857 and 950 handheld devices, as well as T-Mobile’s Sidekick, Fido’s Hiptop, and SunCom’s Hiptop devices running on Danger Inc.’s Hiptop platform. Wynd expects to launch the service commercially in the first quarter of 2004.
