SAN DIEGO-L.M. Ericsson said it has successfully conducted a series of data calls in its CDMA2000 1xEV-DV lab, using its base station controller, packet core network, mobile switching center and components from the radio base station’s Connectivity Packet Platform.
The technology provides both voice and data of the third-generation variety for multimedia services.
“Operators utilizing Ericsson’s CDMA2000 1x solution today only need simple software and channel card upgrades when migrating to 1xEV-DV, making Ericsson’s solution cost effective and future proof for the operators,” said Ake Persson, president of Ericsson Mobile Systems CDMA.
