Siemens' mobile-phone president dies

MUNICH, Germany-The head of Siemens’ mobile-phone business died Dec. 28, the company said. Siemens could not immediately elaborate on the death of Ian Moyes, 48, president of Siemens’ Mobile Phones Division.

Siemens Mobile President Rudi Lamprecht will serve temporarily as the acting head of the Mobile Phones Division.

Moyes began his career at Siemens in 1986 in its Electronic Components Product Marketing. He then went on to head the company’s U.K. Sales Division. Moyes served as director of Siemens’ Information & Communication Mobile division in the United Kingdom before he was appointed as head of the mobile-phone business in September. Moyes leaves behind a wife and two children.
