RESTON, Va.-Sprint Nextel Corp. said it has nearly completed restoring its wireless and wireline networks in south Florida following Hurricane Wilma.
The company said more than 90 percent of its wireless networks are operating in the region. The carrier is now focusing recovery efforts on Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe, Martin and St. Lucie counties, where power outages remain an issue.
In addition, the company said about 2,100 local access lines remain out of service following the storm.
