SAN JOSE, Calif.-Telcontar, which provides location-based services software, released its Traffic Manager 3.0 product.
Traffic Manager 3.0 supports real-time traffic incident data for more than 20 major metropolitan areas in the United States, as well as traffic feed providers in Europe, said the company.
“Real-time traffic information will be an important component for driving the success of most LBS offerings in the future,” said J. Kim Fennell, president and chief executive officer of Telcontar. “Having access to real-time traffic information online or through a wireless device provides valuable time-saving information to a user, which will increase the perceived value of the LBS application. This in turn makes it an important service for wireless carriers and Internet portals/search companies to deploy as they move to differentiate their services and attract users.”
