NEW YORK-Comverse Technology Inc. Wednesday unveiled a service that delivers text notification of a missed video call in the first frame of the video message.
Dubbed “Who Called for Video,” the new offering is a call completion service allowing users to receive missed video call information when their handset is off or if they’re out of 3G coverage. The company said the service is designed to help subscribers develop a high level of confidence in video calling, increasing uptake and generating data revenues for operators.
“3G operators are seeking to capitalize on the growing number of video-enabled handsets by offering more video-based services,” said Benny Einhorn, Comverse’s chief marketing officer.
