T-Mobile launches PTT service in Germany

BONN, Germany-T-Mobile Deutschland became the first carrier in Germany to offer push-to-talk services. The service lets users simultaneously talk to up to 10 different parties.

The service is free until April 30, after which the service will be billed by daily or monthly flat rates. Within Germany, the service will cost $1.30 per day or $23.60 per month. Using PTT abroad costs $5.24 for 100 messages. Customers receive the messages free.

“With Push to Talk, we are launching a ground-breaking mobile communications innovation,” said Martin Knauer, managing director of marketing at T-Mobile. “Push to Talk is new, fun and easy to use, and is attractive for consumers and business customers alike.”
