WARREN, N.J.-Virgin Mobile USA and Universal Music Group announced an exclusive mobile music deal that calls for the two companies to offer ringtones and voice greetings from rock group Sum 41.
Virgin Mobile, in conjunction with UMG and The Island Def Jam Music Group, will offer its customers exclusive access to Superphonic ringtones from Sum 41’s most recent album on its First Dibs program. Superphonic ringtones offer a true audio clip of an original recording, voice or sound.
In other ringtone news, Versaly Entertainment entered an agreement with hip-hop artist Sir Mix-A-Lot to create and produce exclusive mobile ringtones aimed at the youth market.
The company said the ringtones will be available through carriers in the United States and Canada as well as through Versaly’s ForFones mobile storefront.<
