LONDON-Vodafone U.K. has chosen Tatara Systems’ Subscriber Gateway to enhance its third-generation and GPRS laptop data services.
The gateway helps Vodafone become a Wi-Fi service provider without building a hot spot of its own by allowing customers to access its Wi-Fi services initially via BT OpenZone hot spots. The product collects data on customer connection durations and passes the information to the database and billing systems, allowing Vodafone to bill for both Wi-Fi and wide area wireless service on the same bill.
