It’s not clear what caused the major Verizon outage in Florida on Tuesday, but customers from around the state reported that voice calling was not working.
According to network outage aggregator DownDetector.com, which uses crowd-sourced network quality reports, complaints about voice service came from all around the Sunshine State.
Android Police reports that Verizon acknowledged the issue, but didn’t go into detail about the cause in a brief statement issued yesterday. That statement reads: “We are aware of the issue affecting some connections in Florida. Our network teams are working to resolve the issue.”
Jacksonville, Florida-based News4Jax tallied confirmed outages in Jacksonville, Oviedo, Zephyrhills, Fort Lauderdale, Winter Springs, Pompano Beach, Tampa, Panama City, Fort Myers, Largo, St. Petersburg, Lake Wales, West Palm Beach, Cape Coral, Sebastian and more.
The network issues appear to have been corrected around 9 p.m. yesterday.
