ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless users can send and receive Yahoo! instant messages though a new, full-color graphical interface, the companies announced Wednesday.
“Instant messaging has exploded in the U.S.,” said Jim Ryan, vice president of data product management and business marketing for Cingular, “and this gives our 25 million customers even more messaging options.”
Sprint PCS also offers Yahoo! instant messaging with color graphics; Yahoo! instant text messaging is available for AT&T Wireless Services, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless subscribers.
The new application is being offered to Cingular customers with Motorola V400 or V600 phones and will soon be available on other handsets.
