Alltel Corp. announced a management shuffle that will kick in after private-equity firms TPG Capital and GS Capital Partners complete their acquisition of the carrier, a deal which is expected to close Nov. 16.
Scott Ford will remain president and CEO, while Alltel’s group president of shared services, Jeffrey Fox, will become the company’s COO. Fox will report to Ford, along with Rick Massey-who will continue as Alltel’s general counsel, as well as taking on a role as chief strategy officer.
John Ebner, who is currently senior VP of investor relations and treasurer, will “lead sponsor relations to coordinate activities with the private equity groups,” Alltel said. Meanwhile, the company said that Kerry Brooks, who is now executive VP of Alltel’s wireless wholesale operations, will “take a new role leading the transformational steps Alltel’s business will undertake in 2008 and thereafter.”
Holly Larkin, Alltel’s senior VP of corporate governance, will take on a new role as treasurer and secretary. Larkin will report to Sharilyn Gasaway, who will continue as Alltel’s CFO.
Alltel’s group president of operations, Kevin Beebe, has accepted a role as consultant to Alltel.
TPG and GS announced plans to acquire Alltel earlier this year in a $8.2 billion deal.
