LEVITTOWN, Pa.-2004 has been a busy year for FTS Wireless Inc., a company that operates retail wireless locations that market next-generation wireless products and services and operate Wi-Fi hot spots.
This week, the company announced it will acquire a second location from Florida-based Wireless Unlimited Inc. FTS’ first acquisition involving Wireless Unlimited was announced last week. One week before that, the company said it would buy All Clear Wireless Inc.
“Our proposed acquisition of Wireless Unlimited, as well as the recently closed acquisition of All Clear Wireless are examples of our ability to execute our roll-up strategy and build long-term value for FTS and our shareholders,” said Scott Gallagher, the company’s chief executive officer.
In addition to the acquisitions, earlier this year the company began charging a pay-per-use fee for its previously free Flip the Switch Hot Spot network, and added prepaid wireless products and services to its product line. FTS also announced it would become a preferred distributor of wireless communications hardware to members of Internet-based wholesale membership club Onlinesupplier.com.
FTS currently operates five retail wireless locations in the Florida Gulf Coast region, one location in the Philadelphia suburbs, and two e-commerce sites, www.SatPhoneCenter.com and www.CellularDeals.com.
