Liberty Wireless unveils new prepaid plans

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Prepaid wireless phone service provider Liberty Wireless has released a new set of prepaid wireless calling plans, which the company is touting as consumer friendly, especially following the recent implementation of wireless local number portability.

“One-third of all cell-phone users are under contract with their existing wireless carrier and face early-termination fees of $175 or more if they want to take advantage of the FCC’s new number portability rules,” explained Don Charlton, president of Liberty. “Liberty’s new Liberty Simple calling plans let eligible cell-phone users try our easy and affordable pay-as-you-go service without forfeiting their phone number or locking them into a restrictive one- or two-year commitment.”

The five new Liberty Simple plans cost from $20 to $100 per month, and the four higher-end plans include unlimited nights and weekends.
