Fixed wireless provider NextWeb acquires Calif. company

FREMONT, Calif.-NextWeb has acquired managed telecom services provider Libritas Inc.’s managed service platform technology and customer base.

The fixed wireless Internet service provider said the assets will expand its customer base and service capabilities in California. The acquisition follows the company’s purchase of the assets and customer base of San Jose, Calif.-based Innetix earlier this year and the purchase of southern Californian fixed wireless service provider Worldwide Wireless.

“This acquisition complements our strong organic growth and accelerates our business plan of providing reliable and secure high-speed Internet access to California businesses,” said Graham Barnes, chief executive officer of NextWeb.

NextWeb’s fixed wireless Internet service is available in more than 60 California cities, reaching a potential enterprise customer base of 50,000 businesses.
