HYDERABAD, India—Two wireless companies, IMImobile and Cellfire Inc., announced new venture-capital funding this week.
IMImobile, which sells technology platforms and content-aggregation services, said it received a $10 million investment from technology venture-capital firm Pequot Ventures. IMImobile said it plans to use the funds to bolster its position in India as well as to expand its support for its global customer base.
As part of the investment, Amish Jani, senior vice president of Pequot Ventures, has joined IMImobile’s board of directors.
Separately, Cellfire said it raised $10 million in a second round of funding led by Menlo Ventures. The company said it will use the money to accelerate sales and marketing efforts for its mobile coupon service, which it launched nationally last month.
