MobileSphere expands campus offering

BOSTON—Telecommunications company MobileSphere Ltd. announced the launch of its MobileU offering designed to provide college and university students with a communications package that encompasses calls from dormitories, international long-distance calls via cell phone, prepaid services and domestic and international text messaging.

MobileSphere said it already works with more than 20 universities to provide the services for small and large campuses and says that it reaches more than 450,000 students across the country. MobileU is aimed at making telecom choices easy for college administrators by bundling the various services so that universities can make them available.

MobileU’s offering includes international dialing from any cellular phone at “significantly reduced” rates; domestic and international long distance calling from a residence hall, office, cellular phone or any off-campus phone; prepaid wireless services; PC-to-phone text messaging for free and a find/follow service that allows students to be reached at one number that can follow them to a wireless or residential phone number and is managed online.
