LAS VEGAS—Motorola Inc. is expanding its retail base by partnering with a top seller of mobile phones.
The Schaumburg-based mobile phone manufacturer has partnered with InPhonic of Washington, D.C., which sells wireless services and products through thousands of Web sites including its own Wirefly.com.

Motorola’s new online store departs from its typical retail strategy of selling products through wireless service providers. Now Motorola will reach more than 20 million consumers who visit InPhonic sites each month, the company said.
