GENEVA-WAP browser company Access announced more than 100 million devices have shipped with its NetFront WAP browser. The company counts AT&T Wireless, China Mobile, China Unicom, Handspring, Hutchison 3G Group, IBM, KDDI, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, PalmSource, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and more as customers.
“I’m excited to see NetFront reach 100 million worldwide deployments,” said Toru Arakawa, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “From the very beginning, our goal has been to develop Internet technologies that enable access from any device and location. This deployment milestone is a clear validation that our efforts are succeeding.”
WAP pioneer Openwave Systems Inc. in July announced it had sold a total of 400 million browsers.
