Phone giant, Nokia, is holding a mysterious launch in just under 11 hours – so mysterious, in fact, that no one seems to know what the event is about.
There is of course plenty of speculation. It could be the launch of some shiny new phones, it could be new apps, or new Ovi maps features it could even be “an exceptional mobile messaging solution to the masses” –the only clue Nokia will actually give us.
The event webpage provides nothing but a tantalizing countdown, to what is either an EMEA event, or something of a Nokia midnight mass.
Armed only with the knowledge that Nokia hopes to provide the world with ‘new messaging solutions,’ RCR can only guess the event – which takes place just a day after Microsoft’s Kin social media friendly/frenzy phones launched – has something to do with new operating system Meego.
Launched in conjunction with Intel back at MWC in Barcelona, Meego apparently aims to combine “comms and telephony services, internet and social networking services, visual services, media services, data management, device services, and personal services.”
Indeed, that would seem to fit with the event name, ‘everyoneconnect’, which would certainly all connect up rather nicely.
Other rumors buzzing about in conjunction with the launch include Nokia releasing a range of low end devices with updated Nokia messaging, the launch of Nokia’s first Symbian 3 phone the Nokia N8 or more additions to Ovi Maps navigation.
Whatever it is, we’ll find out soon enough and keep you posted.
